Yesterday's Doctors appointment went well. I've gained about 5 more pounds. Which isn't great but it also isn't terrible. Now I've just got to hold this weight until October! haha! They changed my due date to October 24, which is just fine with me. I need all the time I can to get ready to be a mother of two babies under 2! What an adventure. Went for a good walk yesterday and hope to get another one in today. I have been aiming for exercise 3 days a week but now I think I need to move it up to five times a week or even everyday! It is so strange but this week is the first I have actually felt pregnancy symptoms. I am tired, have headaches and just feel fatigued and sometimes nautious. I am hoping things will smooth out so I can continue to keep in shape. I found a great article that really helped me prepare for the future and put things into perspective. Plus, I could totally relate.

Grocery Day
Today has been slow but enjoyable. It was warm enough to grill, so I grilled some chicken strips that were seriously yummy. Went to the grocery and stocked up on lots of delicous stuff. Got all of the ingredients to make a italian vegetable soup; italian sausage, zuccini, yellow squash, white onion, tomoatoes, vegetable broth, shrimp, fresh carrots and spinach. I made it quite a bit last year and Shawn and I both LOVE it. I mean there is usually hardly any left over. I got plenty of fresh fruits to make smoothies, which I am totally looking forward to!
I didn't get to go for a walk today but hopefully the sun will come out long enough tomorrow for a brisk walk with Annabelle and her super awesome jogging stroller. Tomorrow I have an ultrasound appointment which is super exciting and I will get to weigh again! I'm kinda nervous because I have been totally slacking on the exercise. It's been raining and I'm totally not into indoor exercise. But, I could totally get down with some Yoga so I will have to get some information about what I can find around town. I am going to post my weight. Hopefully, I have gained less than 5 lbs but if not I will just have to work harder and cut back the occasional scoop of Ice cream! I am soe xcited to see the little baby. Hopefully they will be able to tell what the sex is! I'm voting GIRL but who knows!

Getting Out of a Funk
At the moment I am wondering what happened to Spring? The weather in the last few weeks has been so severe I haven't been able to go for hardly any walks. I pretty much binged over Easter, which was awesome. But, I am ready to get back on track. And for the weather to start cooperating! I have an ultrasound appointment this Friday so I am looking forward to checking my weight and hopefully it isn't too overboard. Plus, I love ultrasound appointment because I will get to see my little beautiful bundle of joy.
My husband just fixed a wonderful brunch of scrambled eggs and bacon and the sun is starting to shine so, I think today will be a great day!

Volcanoe Smoothie
Smoothie Recipe=Super AWESOME
1 cup of fruit juice, your choice. I used a Tropical Blend
1 hand full of baby carrots, chopped
1 cup of rasberries (I used forzen but fresh is awesome too)
5-8 slices of peaches (I also used used frozen but once again frozen rocks too)
3 sliced large strawberries
1 package of artificial sweetener like splenda (until desired sweetness)
Sprig of mint and slice of cucumber to garnish (optional)
This is called the volcanoe because of the awesome bright red color. It is super delicious!! And a fun way to get your daily serving of fruit & veggies in!

Rain Storms
We had some severe weather last night. I used to enjoy thunderstorms, before I became a mother and an extremely light sleeper. I'm feeling pretty exhausted. I had horrible nightmares this morning and woke up feeling very emotional. I know this is a part of pregnancy, but definitely my very least favorite part. Island Mango and peach tea managed to pull me out of my funk and cheer me up a bit. I indulged in a sodium high confort food, Ramen Noodles, but today it was much needed so I feel no guilt in this. I was really excited to find some wild mint growing in my backyard. IT made a wonderful addition to my tea. I have quite a bit of homework to do today, hope I can stay focused. I'm thinking about making some bean soup for dinner and maybe Turkey pita pockets. I need to go to the grocery to stock back up on fruits. I bought a mini cantelope and cut it up yesterday but it wasn't quite ripe and didn't have that sweet juiciness that I like. I will probably make a smoothie with some v8 juice, carrots, maybe fresh mint, raspberries and mango. Mmm! That will my reward for studying! I am lucky to have such a wonderful family. My husband really cheered me up after feeling so down this morning. He let me cry on his shoulder and watched a movie with me until I felt okay. I don't know what I would do without him!
Oh, yeah thought I wouls post a full body pics so I can track my growth during this pregnancy. Maybe I will even take one of my feet, since in a few month I will forget what they used to look like HAHAHA!

14 Weeks & Counting
Week 14- The Beginning
Week 14- The Beginning
Being 14 weeks pregnant with a 7 month old, you can imagine the worries that lie ahead. But, I am trying to stay positive, eat healthy and plan accordingly. This pregnancy is similar to my first, no vomiting, naseau or other negative side effects. But, not even half way through this pleasant journey I've gained about 10 pounds. With my first daughter, Annabelle Marleigh, I gained about 60 pounds. And only managed to lose about 40 pounds of that baby weight. So, I am already starting off quite a bit heavier than last time. Weight management has never been an easy task for me. So, as an easy start I've completely cut out FAST FOOD. That was about 12 days ago. An all except for a mochachino from Wendy's (probably ridiculously high in calories and sugar) I've done very well. This means no greasy burgers, fries, blizzards, milk shakes or taco's. This has not been easy, especially since I love many of these foods and so does my husband. He has worse food craving than I do, but somehow maintains a healthy weight. I was excited when I went to my first Doctors appointment and had lost a pound. I have always been a full figured girl, so pregnancy easily turns me into a full blown whale. My face is already getting to round for my liking. But, I know no matter how many changes my body takes on it is ALL worth it for a beautiful, healthy baby. But, I want to be healthy and live a long life for my children and my husband. I want to feel good about the decisions I make. I know I am going to gain weight, that is what pregnancy is all about but I don't want to gain unnecesarily. So, as for today, the eggo waffles were no good! But, a peice of fruit always is better than an ice cream bar! Positive note for the day, I put Annabelle in her stroller and went for an hour and half walk with my good friend and her daughter. It felt great outside and now I feel really good for getting some exercise!
